Od sunca do snage: Električna Mobilnost i Radne Mašine Menjaju Budućnost
A najbolji deo? Njihovi proizvodi ostaju konkurentni u inostranstvu.

Charging Ahead: Electric Mobility and Work Machines Transforming the Future
Jugo Expert: Welcome, Lars! It’s great to have a Swedish clean-transport pioneer here with our Jugosistem team. Europe’s Nordics have been early adopters of electric heavy machines – what real examples can you share from back home?
Lars Olsson: Glad to be here! In Sweden, even heavy equipment is going electric. For example, Volvo CE (a Swedish company) launched the 23-ton EC230 Electric excavator – the first in its class. It’s been tested on real construction sites and, importantly, matches the performance of diesel models while producing zero tailpipe emissions[1]. Volvo now boasts “the largest lineup of battery-electric heavy equipment” – compact excavators, wheel loaders, even asphalt rollers – all proving that electric machines can handle tough jobs quietly and cleanly [1]. This isn’t just niche: in the U.S., Turner Construction is piloting Volvo’s EC230-Electric, showing that even big contractors see the benefits of quieter, low-maintenance electric excavators [2]. It’s truly a revolution – machines so quiet you’d hardly notice them working, but they carry on with the same power.
Jugo Expert: That’s impressive! It sounds like Nordics are taking the lead. Here in the Balkans, we see exciting stories too. For instance, Serbia’s eastern region has a furniture factory in Knjaževac that installed a 480 kW solar roof. They now use that solar power to run their production line, and store the surplus energy in batteries that charge their electric forklifts[3]. This cut their energy bills by half and delivers about 530 000 kWh of green power per year, slashing CO₂ by roughly 580 tonnes annually[4]. And the best part? Their products stay competitive abroad. New EU rules (the so-called CBAM carbon tax) were looming, but by going green with solar and EVs they essentially sidestep that extra cost[5][4].
Lars Olsson: Wow, that’s brilliant. So they turned a potential cost (carbon fees) into a selling point.
Jugo Expert: Exactly. Another local success: in Niš, Serbia’s third city, over 90% of taxis are now hybrid or fully electric[6]. This happened purely by market choice! Taxi companies noticed cleaner, quieter rides were in demand, so they switched vehicles. Riders love it – everyone gets a smooth quiet ride, while the city’s air gets a breather. (And next month there’s even free public buses here.) It shows what happens when businesses and citizens decide: “Hey, let’s go electric!”
Lars Olsson: That’s awesome – grassroots sustainability. And in companies, I’ve heard about Serbia’s Post introducing 31 new electric delivery vans in Novi Sad and planning to electrify the whole fleet[7]. They’re even putting solar panels on post buildings in Kragujevac, Novi Sad, Belgrade and Niš to charge those vehicles with clean energy[8].
Jugo Expert: Great examples! Now John Li, as our Lonking representative, tell us how Chinese manufacturers are responding. Lonking is a big name – what’s in the pipeline for electric work machines?
John Li: Lonking (our partner) is going all-in on electrification. Lonking is already China’s largest construction machinery maker (500+ products, 56,000 units sold in 2020[9]) and one of the top 15 forklift makers worldwide[10]. We offer diesel, LPG and electric forklifts from 1.3 to 25 tons capacity[11]. Our new CDP15 (1.5t) and CDP18 (1.8t) electric forklifts – models we will display at the expo – show that even heavy lift trucks can run on batteries with no loss of performance. Lonking also sells electric wheel loaders, excavators, and road rollers. The era of “coal-powered” machinery in China is ending – China invested $625 billion in clean energy last year (31% of the world total)[12]. President Xi just announced that by 2035 China will have six times more wind and solar capacity than in 2020[13]. In fact, analysts say China is fast becoming the world’s leading clean-energy superpower, which means companies like Lonking are racing to fill the roads and sites with EV machines[13].
Lars Olsson: It’s remarkable. Even Al Gore joked that with America holding back, “China is going to become the global leader in confronting the climate crisis”[13].
John Li: And we see it on the ground. Chinese mines and ports are already trying out our electric loaders, and logistics hubs run dozens of our electric forklifts on solar farms. Solar charging makes the economics work nicely – zero fuel cost, near-zero maintenance.
Jugo Expert: It’s clear: global momentum is electric. Now, from a business perspective, switching to electric machines can also qualify for green financing. At Jugosistem we’re seeing companies get low-interest “green” loans to install solar+EV fleets. Plus they avoid EU carbon tariffs. In one recent project near Niš (Lazarevo selo), we just finished a 1.5 MW solar roof for a window factory. This cuts their electricity bill dramatically and keeps their EU customers happy without the carbon surcharge. Basically, investing in solar and EVs now is a finance win: you save on fuel, maintenance and taxes, and often get subsidies or cheap loans.
Lars Olsson: That’s practical, hands-on wisdom.
John Li: Absolutely – and evidence that electric machines aren’t just theoretical. Customers report no drop in productivity and huge savings on fuel.
Jugo Expert: Before we wrap up, quick fun fact: Lars, have you ever tried an electric chainsaw in snowy woods?
Lars Olsson (laughing): Oh, many times! They’re like a polite beehive compared to a stinky chainsaw. No snowmobile rumble needed – just plug in, and off you go. The Swedes joke that soon even our snowplows will whisper instead of roar!
Jugo Expert: Perfect image.
